#ISLASTONES

A recent purchase from Graphics Direct, Including a new airbrush, compressor and airbrush accessories, But these have been used a little differently.

These have been used for a cause very close to home for many people.
In July 2018, sadly a 7 year old girl Isla, lost her battle with cancer.

7 year old Isla woke up in August 2017 unable to walk, after many horrible treatments, surgery and radiotherapy, Isla was in Jan 2018 diagnosed as having a diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma DIPG – and there was no further treatment options for her.

Isla sadly passed away in July 2018, this is her legacy and we thank you for reading this and we hope you would like to join the group and help raise awareness.

Isla started to decorate stones and gave them to her friends to hide.
There are over 75,000 members from all around the world on her Facebook page #islastones all decorating and hiding stones.

Stones have been hidden across the world including the Taj Mahal, New Zealand and a very special stone in Antartica!

Since being contacted by #Islastones Graphics Direct are donating airbrush colours for the cause, which are being used towards an easter hunt enjoyed by thousands on easter sunday.

These stones will bear the names of children who have been lost to cancer, the type of cancer and their age. There will also be stones for those currently fighting cancer.

Due to Covid restrictions the event had to be postponed. However we have some great news that the event was held on Easter Sunday 2022 and raised over £5300 for children & families who have been effected by this terrible disease.

To join in, simply paint your own stone, write #islastones and Photo, Post. Rehide and then hide them. If you can fit it on your stone please also write DIPG to raise even more awareness.
