Graphics Direct are increasingly aware of the impact on the environment of waste material and packaging. Wherever possible we will re-use packaging materials. Whilst the quality of the products you buy will never be compromised we feel its important to try and recycle what we can and lessen the impact on land fill sites. As of January 2010, in conjunction with our couriers, on all small parcels, we are now using bio-degradeable bags.

Graphics Direct moved into new purpose built premises, at the start of 2009, incorporating offices and larger warehouse facilities is now complete and as a sign of increased volumes we had added to our staff levels with a new team member in our warehouse to help distribution.

Health and safety issues being ignored by many design studios, claims research

North Yorkshire-based art materials supplier Graphics Direct surveyed 100 studios throughout the north and found that less than half had taken precautions regarding the extraction of harmful fumes. While 82 respondents admitted to using solvents, adhesives and fixatives in the preparation of artwork, only 50 had installed a spray booth – a self-contained unit fitted with an extractor fan – to take away the often-toxic fumes Only six of those not using a booth said they were considering acquiring one. Prolonged exposure to some studio materials can seriously damage workers' health.
