The ProMarker Blender is the single most useful addition to any ProMarker collection. It contains no pigment — instead the clear alcohol-based solvent reactivates the ink already on paper, allowing you to push colours together, soften hard edges, create smooth colour gradients, and correct minor mistakes before they dry. If you use ProMarkers and don't own a blender, you're missing the technique that separates flat colour from professional blended illustration.

What the blender does

• Softens edges — draw a line, then run the blender alongside it to feather the edge from hard to soft
• Blends colours — apply two adjacent colours while wet, then work the blender across the boundary for a seamless transition
• Lightens tones — go over a dried ProMarker area with the blender to lift and spread the colour, creating a lighter or more diffused version of the original shade
• Corrects minor errors — small overruns and mistakes can often be corrected before fully dry by pushing colour away from the error area with the blender tip
• Creates texture effects — stippling, spattering, and directional blending all produce distinctive textured results

When to use it

Work quickly — the blending window is while the ink is still wet or barely dry. The blender is most effective when used immediately after laying down colour, before the alcohol evaporates. On smoother, heavier marker paper the window is longer; on standard cartridge paper it closes faster.
