Detail paper is one of the most indispensable materials in a professional drawing studio. Lightweight and translucent, it lets you place work underneath and trace or develop directly on top — ideal for overlays, preliminary design sketches, development drawings, and refinement work before committing to final media. It accepts pencil, pen and ink, and felt-tip markers cleanly, without feathering or bleed-through.

Bienfang Sketching Detail Paper — 35gsm is the established choice for graphic designers, illustrators, and architects who need a versatile everyday detail roll. Available in white and canary yellow, in widths from 305mm to 610mm and lengths from 18m to 45m, Bienfang is tough enough to withstand repeated handling, erasing, and reworking. Also known as Elmers Detail Paper, manufactured by Speedball.

Tervakoski Detail Paper — 25gsm is an ultra-lightweight Finnish-made paper with exceptional transparency — the choice when you need maximum see-through quality for precision overlays. Available in 297mm and 594mm widths on 100m rolls, Tervakoski is widely used by architects and technical designers who work with roll paper in volume.

C300 Detail Paper — 53gsm from Royal Sovereign is a heavier-weight typo detail paper for situations where standard-weight tracing paper is too thick but you still need a degree of translucency. Ideal for typographical layouts, studio overlays, and type-setting work.
